Christian Education

Adult Christian Education
Various forums are held for Adult Christian formation, including Inquirers’ classes and Bible study.

Contemplative Evening Prayer
Contemplative Evening Prayer combines the Lectionary, the Book of Common Prayer service of Compline and the ancient monastic discipline of Lectio Divina (Divine Reading) for silent reflection on Scripture. All are welcome to join us at 5 pm each Wednesday for an hour of Christian meditation and renewal.

Wednesday Morning Prayer
On Wednesday mornings from 10–11:45, a group of women from St. Francis and several friends have been gathering for the past several years. Morning prayer is followed by study of a specific area of the Bible. This time is not only educational but also a wonderful support group has been forged. Questions and discussions are encouraged. Everyone is invited to come join in.

Education for Ministry (EfM)
Education for Ministry is a four-year satellite program from The School of Theology in Sewanee, Tennessee that prepares Christians to live out their baptismal covenant. Covering Old Testament (year one), New Testament (year two), Church History (year three), and Theologians (year four), the program trains us to think theologically about how we deal with our lives and the lives of others so that we may be effective ministers to the world. The program is supported by prayer and worship, as well as study and reflection.
